Research Problem(s) Studied

The only concern was having enough time to interact with the other person so that means participants may appreciate a good amount of time to allow more meaningful conversations.

Research Instrument

Part Two

After doing the survey for potential customers over Speed Dating on Campus, I got four respondents. Ages 19, 19, 20, and 21, three females, one male, one freshman, two sophomores, and one junior. They all never had participated in a speed dating event, half of them are very interested and other half somewhat interested. Motivation to attend a speed dating event, 100% said meeting new people, 100% said to have fun, 75% said to socialize. For the type of atmosphere they would prefer at the event, 75% said casual and 25% said themed. What they're currently looking for, 75% said looking for friends and 25% said both friends and romantic partner. If they feel comfortable meeting new people in person, they all said yes. Only one had a concern about participating in a speed dating event which was the amount of time given to each interaction.

What I learned from this research is that there's a high interest in speed dating events, specifically to meet new people and have fun. All respondents were comfortable in meeting new people, making a generally open and social demographic. Participants indicated that socializing and meeting new people were their main reason for attending with less interest in finding a romantic partner. This information can help with marketing messages to create friendship and community building. The only concern was having enough time to interact with the other person so that means participants may appreciate a good amount of time to allow more meaningful conversations.

My research will influence my marketing plan by focusing on having a casual event promoting to have a fun opportunity to meet new friends rather than strictly romantic interests. Based on the feedback for interaction time, we will find a way to allow longer conversations or group activities to create deeper connections.
